How do I get my avatar to show up?
Wordpress utilizes the globally recognized avatar system, Gravatar. All you need to do is register on their site and upload your avatar (it even lets you maintain multiple images so you can switch them out easily if you want to). The cool thing about Gravatar is that it will show up on any site that utlizes their service, so you will only need to do this once. Signing up with Intense Debate (recommended – see below) will also allow you to choose an avatar.

How do I vote on comments, get points for comments, and show up on the Top Commenters list?
Our site uses the Intense Debate engine to manage the comments. Once you are registered through Intense Debate, you automatically gain points for your comments. Each comment you leave gets you one point. Other Intense Debate members can upvote and downvote your comments (and you can vote on other comments, too). ANY comment can be voted on, but the commenter only gets points if they’re signed into Intense Debate when they leave the comment. Likewise, the Top Commenters list only tabulates commenters who have points.
